Each year, there is a huge -free & anonymous- contest for Photographers all over the world over at Shoot & Share. This year there were over 400,000 images submitted among 25 different categories. I submitted 50 favorites (max amount that I could submit) and the contest lasted 12 nail biting rounds for almost a month!
I entered the contest in 2016, skipped 2017, and told myself that my only goal for 2018 was doing better than what I did in 2016.
As an artist, my only competition is myself. And as a creative, I should always want to show progress, and not be “stuck.”
Also, I was soooooo inspired by all of the amazing photographs that I saw while voting. There is some major talent in this world,.. and it’s truly incredible in how we each see things differently.
I challenge you to always want to be better than the person you were yesterday.
Get out of that creative rut, before you burn out and lose your passion.
Throw your insecurities to the wind…
Art is supposed to be messy.
