It’s no secret that I’m a MAJOR fan of macro photography. Macro simply put, means ….close up. I bought a macro lens back around February and haven’t really got a chance to use it other than at a few newborn sessions. I was FINALLY able to take it out this week.. and with spring hitting Texas full force right now.. I think I chose the right time to get my feet wet in the world of macro photography. Everything is blooming.. I absolutely love spring. All of the bright colors compared to the dull shades of Winter that my eyes have become accustomed to since practically last summer since the heat wave and lack of rain killed pretty much.. everything.. very quickly. All of the rain we have received here lately has brought my Texas back to life.. with lush green grass.. flowers sprouting everywhere.. and I’m even starting to see some bluebonnets! 🙂 Every spring my boys pick these tiny little white flowers that they find in my backyard and always bring them to me. I try to save them as long as I can.. but they die pretty quickly. I went out yesterday after Nolan brought me a handful and took a picture of some that were still planted firmly into the ground (before my boys tiny hands plucked them).. and I honestly never knew how amazing they were up close. There is a whole world out there of things that are so incredibly tiny.. yet still contain so much beauty with all of their little details that we never even notice. Next you’ll see a picture of a bumble bee.. this little guy.. along with a zillion of his pals.. are all buzzing around the hedges along my front porch. I’m not going to lie.. after watching My Girl as a child.. I’ve been terrified of bumblebees since. LoL! SO I tried to keep a distance from them.. but they seriously were flying fast from bloom to bloom.. this is really the best shot I got! Next is a picture of a tree that I shot out at Archer’s for Christ while my boys were doing their manly archery stuff.. The spiderweb that was tangled up around it caught my eye. I HATE SPIDERS. Big Spiders.. Little Spiders.. anything creepy and crawly.. I totally turn into a 4 year old little girl and run off screaming or go try and stand on the highest object closest to me and away from that horrid monster and quickly tell whoever is around me to “KILL IT!!”… I’m sure it’s a hilarious sight.. but I HATE SPIDERS. lol.. so seeing this spiderweb actually gave me a new respect for them.. the beauty that create.. pretty magnificent if I do say so myself.. even though they are on my “why did Noah bring these two animals on his boat to procreate” list.. up there with mosquitos.. ticks.. seriously Noah.. WHY?!?!
Then there are a couple of shots of a tree that’s blooming in my neighbors yard. LOL It’s pretty. I have no idea what it is.. maybe you can tell me. So I can send my husband to home depot to buy one. Because.. I totally dig it.. every spring!
